Hello VGammil and Mike Golden,
Our daughter was diagnosed with NHL Perpheral T-cell Lymphoma(unspecifie
She took chemo treatment CHOP 8 cycles, with partial remission. Lymph nodes in the groin, neck and underarms. She continued treatment with altrenate therapy (Gerson Therapy) mainly focusing on a strict diet regime. She was doing good with some reduction in lymph nodes. The eosinophils also came down to 10,000 from 20,000 in past 1 yr.
2 months ago she suffered a vasculitis problem in the left hand (hand only) with bad supply of blood resulting in the finger muscle / tissue damage, suspected due to hypereosinophila.
She is being treated with prednisone-
2 weeks on 40mg (eosinophills down to 0.39 from 10), (started on 4th June 2009),
1 week on 30 mg (eosinophills down to 0.28), (18th June)
1 week on 25 mg (eosinophills down to 0.1), (30th June)
1 week on 20 mg (eosinophills up to 1.1), (8th July)
currently on 20mg prednisone.
The hand condition is better since starting prednisone but since reducing dossage from 25mg to 20mg it is starting to get worse slowly. The doctor has suggested to check eos again after 7 days.
After starting prednisone, the lymph nodes have reduced and the largest is now 1 cm. The doctor thinks the lymphoma is in remission but the eosinophills are causing servere damage to the hands and severe eczema
IS THERE ANY TREATMENT FOR HYPER EOSINOPHILLIC SYNDROME in alternative threapies ? Thanks,
AKP
