Sorry for not making it more clear, however, I probably did say "it served me very well" but in case I did not, no only my wife and me are covered by Medicare the others by a Group Medical Plan. By the way, for those being lied to, there already is someone in-between the patient and the doctor and that is the insurer. My daughter-in-law wanted a surgeon that was not on their 'approved list' and so they paid quite a few thousand dollars for the 'right' to select their own physician. If the fraud and over-utilization is taken out of the picture the cost of medical care could begin to be contained. How do we stop the crooks? We can't in any other field so how do we do it? I knew a heart surgeon that scheduled 2 by-pass operations a day, six days a week.
Assuming he had to curtail a couple because of complications, let's assume he performed ten...at the ten years ago prices, $3,000 just for surgery, he made $30,000 a week without the investments he had in Real-Estate. Then there is the field of Oncology. Need I say more about that?
